Organised Chaos...aka The Den

We've had a bit of a shuffle around at Bodgers HQ. Unlike a lot of painters we know, we are very lucky to have a large spare room available to us for our hobby(ies). It's easy to take the space for granted until you see people sharing photo's of their painting areas. Modelers seem to be very resourceful when it comes to finding somewhere to paint; kitchen worktops, cabinets with fold-away desks, impromptu areas on dining tables and so on. Of course the creme de la creme has to be a converted roof space or a purpose built external building. *sigh* Even as a girlie, I have grandiose dreams of areas like that, but as I said, we are very lucky with the space we have.

So....the spare room was once a place of chaos. Ruled by four, yes FOUR very unruly cats and filled with the sort of stuff that only spare rooms, cupboards and under the stairs places can have.  Not to mention the bain of every painter - CAT HAIR. Whilst we adore all of our cats, two are known as the Fluffy Terrorists an they constantly drop hair; it's a wonder they aren't bald. But it's nothing a Dyson Animal vacuum can't handle *MUWWWAHAAA*

After much cleaning, hoovering and movement of furniture (in between excited shouting and jumping up and down caused by Olympic events) the end result of our weekend was a fab new space for our painting stuff.

Personally I'm placing a lot of faith in this new space; I've been on a painting dry-spell since last September, with minimal sporadic (and incomplete) output at best and I'm in desperate need of motivation. So lets see what happens :)

Happy Painting!

  3. It looks a great little painting area but it needs dirtying up...STAT!

I feel your pain in the MOJO stakes... it will sort itself out in time and maybe a reset is just what the Dr. ordered.

  4. Thanks Inso :) Yeah, it does look a little clinical at the moment, but it won't take long to mess it up. The planets must be aligning - new wet palette arrived today....models arriving tomorrow. It's all falling into place... :D
